To increase Saudi nationals in the workforce, the government Saudized certain positions that can only be held by Saudi nationals. Some of the positions include but are not limited to:

• Light-vehicle driver, order taker, safety and security officer, food service employee, telephone operator, data-entry clerk, administrative clerk, secretary, general services supervisor, room service supervisor, maintenance supervisor, sales and marketing supervisor, safety and security supervisor, tourism programs supervisor, front office supervisor, supervisor of telephone operators, overseer, director of security and safety, acting director, maintenance manager, room service manager, customer service manager, administrative manager, sales and marketing representative, director of tourism programs, director of the front office and director of staff relations.

In the hospitality sector:

• These include reservation, purchases, marketing and front desks, except occupations like that of bellboy, parking valet, driver and doorman.
• The occupations include hotel deputy manager, assistant head of IT Administration, director and assistant director of sales administration; sales representative and sales manager, fitness club supervisor, public services supervisor in a hotel, goods receiving clerk, room service orders clerk, restaurant or café waiter, tourism enquiry clerk, executive secretary, general administrative clerk, administrative employee and administrative coordinator.
• The number of Saudis in the following occupations should not be less than one (i.e., at least one), if they are available in the firm: food and beverages supervisor, room service supervisor, events section supervisor, and laundry supervisor.

In the retail sector:

• The 12 work areas where 70% Saudization is mandatory are: watch shops, optical stores, medical equipment stores, electrical and electronics shops, outlets selling car spare parts, building material shops, outlets selling all types of carpets, automobile and mobile phone shops, shops selling home furniture and ready-made office material, sales outlets of ready-made garments, children’s clothes and men’s supplies, household utensils shops and pastry shops.
