Saudi Arabia’s General Organisation of Social Insurance (GOSI) announced the introduction of electronic contract registration for private-sector workers.

Through the new system, employers will be able to update information for their Saudi and non-Saudi workforce online.

“This initiative aims at protecting the rights of the employer and the employee, and providing a working environment that will help the employee’s stability and increase productivity,” GOSI said.

GOSI says the system will reduce labor disputes because of increased transparency for both parties.

The government has also moved other processes online this year to improve processes, decrease disputes, and for ease of use; including the rental contract registration and payments and the online visa system for event tourists.
