Ministry of Labor invoices companies for work permit fees
The Ministry of Labour and Social Development (MLSD) has issued invoices on the amount due on work permits due to an error on the Ministry of Labour (MoL) portal.
The price increase for work permit fees were not updated on the website and companies who applied in late 2017 or early 2018 were able to apply for work permits on reduced fees. Companies who applied during this time have been issued with invoices to settle the difference.
All companies have been asked to make payment of invoices before July 2019.
Work permit renewal fees are to be paid in full per annum at the time of obtaining a new work permit or at the time of renewal of the current work and residence permit.
The table sets out the fee schedule:

In accordance with 40(1), employers are liable for the payment of all fees associated with the employee’s work and residency authorization.
Submissions will be available through the MLSD portal starting from 19 February 2019.
