Saudia Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has introduced a new online system that processes entertainment license applications. This move is to encourage investment in the Kingdom’s entertainment sector as a part of Vision 2030.
To reach the objectives, this year the GEA introduced entertainment seasons in each city and encouraged local businesses to participate in their success. Entertainment is a growing sector in the Kingdom and has been largely untouched until the recent cinema ban lift, opening many opportunities for foreign investors.
The new licensing system covers a wide range of entertainment activities and venues, including live shows and performances, events, entertainment centres, theme parks, live entertainment in coffee shops and restaurants, leisure facilities, organising and managing crowds, talent management, selling tickets, and operating entertainment facilities.
