Saudi region aims to become global destination for rock climbing

The Royal Commission for Al-Ula (RCU) and Saudi Climbing Federation (SCF) have joined to create rock-climbing routes in the Al-Ula region of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ula holds some of the world’s most extraordinary rock formations, perfect for rock climbing enthusiasts and adventurers. The partnership will include routes for rock climbers of all ages and levels of experience and is expected to attract tourists from all around the world, both amateurs and experts.

Al-Ula is located 110km southwest of Tayma in north-western Saudi Arabia and the project will generate jobs and support the local economy of Al-Ula by training individuals as guides and safety officers for the site.
