Dubai South to grow the private sector

Dubai South has announced a number of initiatives to attract investment and provide incentives to the private sector in sectors including aviation and 3D printing.

The initiatives follows directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to take action to stimulate economic growth and reduce the cost of doing business.

Dubai South’s first initiative is to create a centre for private aircraft registration. Working with the General Civil Aviation Authority to simplify both private aircraft registration and transfer of ownership of private aircrafts.

Dubai South will also make private planes exempt from landing permit fees and will ease the entry procedures for private plane passengers, helping to promote Dubai as a world-class centre for private aircraft.

It has also announced that it will reduce registration fees for companies that specialize in manufacturing and maintenance of airplane parts, in addition to building a regional centre for manufacturing and maintenance.

There will be a reduction in registration fees for companies specializing in manufacturing using 3D printing and it will build special facilities for these companies, which helps to implement the emirate’s strategy of promoting its status as a global leader in 3D printing by 2030.

Dubai South also indicated that it will develop an area for ecommerce and logistics, helping to promote Dubai’s position as a global ecommerce hub.
