Saudi Summer Intern Program

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development and the Human Resource Development Fund have sponsored a summer internship program in the Kingdom, named Saifi, to empower the upcoming youth to enter the labour market.

Saifi will start on the 23 July and will run for 4 weeks. Participation in this program is mandatory for private sector companies with over 25 employees.

Companies are able to participate in the summer training program either through bringing interns into their workplace, or sponsoring interns to receive training at a training institute. These internship opportunities must be registered before 16 July.

The number of interns per organization is based on the number of employees:

1 25-500 4%
2 501-3000 3%
3 3001 and more 2%

Companies can register for the training program through the website,, and provide the required documents; the commercial register, and the number of “GOSI” for the establishment. The HRDF supervise the program, however they do not provide a subsidy for the parties participating. Organizations participating in the program through on-the-job training must pay interns a minimum of SAR 1500 per month. For organisations participating through an external training institute, 1500 SAR per month will be paid by the organisation to the training center plus a minimum of SAR 500 to be paid by the organisation to the student, a minimum total of SAR 2000.
